In New South Wales, a development application (DA) is the application for planning approval to build, subdivide, demolish or change how land is used. Applications are assessed under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979. Most new buildings, subdivisions and changes of use need one; some minor work is exempt or takes a faster path.

Open the application on Planning Alerts and follow the link to its official listing, where you can read the plans and see how to make a submission. How and when comments are taken depends on the application, and many have a closing date for submissions, so check the listing itself.
