What’s proposed
The major concern in the subject circumstances is the tree’s positioning. The Management of the Teys Facility have identified the subject tree as presenting a heightened risk due to the possibility of falling branches or a whole tree failure – particularly during a storm or high wind event – primarily due to its location adjacent to the front security gate, the designated smokers’ area, and the facility’s main carpark. Approximately 800 plus employees pass through the front gate of the facility twice daily, at the start and end of each shift, five days per week. The smokers’ pad, also positioned near the subject tree, is frequently occupied during scheduled break times, further increasing the number of people at risk. The main carpark is regularly accessed not only by employees but also by delivery trucks, contractors, and emergency services such as ambulances
