What’s proposed
The proposal is to display business identification signage for Mero Mero Mex, a Mexican takeaway food shop at 348–350 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy (corner Kerr Street). It comprises: A fascia sign on the Brunswick Street frontage, 8.4 m × 0.61 m (5.12 m²). A fascia sign on the Kerr Street frontage, 1.32 m × 0.61 m (0.81 m²). A removable corner counter on castors with printed panels attached to the entry columns. These sit wholly within the title boundary and are set out during trading hours and taken inside at close. None of the signs is illuminated. They replace the previous tenant’s signage in the same fascia locations and are fixed the same way. There is no third-party advertising and no electronic or animated display. A planning permit is required under Clause 52.05 (Signs) of the Yarra Planning Scheme for business identification signage on land in the Commercial 1 Zone. A permit is also required under Clause 43.01 (Heritage Overlay) to display a sign.
